    Own a Piece of Proviso History and Support Student Success!

    Calling all Pirates, Panthers, Pythons, Community Members, Business Owners, and Proud Proviso families and alumni!

    Many of you asked how to Buy a Brick from the old Proviso East football stadium when it was taken down ahead of construction, last semester. Here’s your chance to own your very own brick!

    We’ve launched the Buy a Brick campaign, which not only allows you to have a piece of Proviso history, it also allows you to support the Board of Education Scholarship Foundation Fund, which will award scholarships to graduating seniors. The first two recipients of the award graduated with the Class of ’21. They received $1,000 each to support their studies at Harvard University and Spelman College.

    “Not only did the BOE scholarship make me feel seen as a student that had been working so hard in the district for the past 4 years, it has also been immensely helpful in helping pay my way as a Harvard freshman,” said Yirenny Cordero, a 2021 recipient of the BOE Scholarship. “To date, I've used the scholarship money for books, books, more books, and some essential expenses like laundry and printing. Thank you Proviso BOE!”

    “This scholarship helped me continue my education at the illustrious Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia,” said Ivoryana Neal, a 2021 recipient of the BOE Scholarship. “It served a great deal in helping with the cost of the essential books I needed for some of my most favorite classes - including African Diaspora World History.”

    The Buy a Brick campaign offers five sponsorship levels - Pennant, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. You can support the initiative by heading to our website, at www.PTHS209.org/Buy-A-Brick, today.

    If you Buy a Brick at any sponsorship level, your name will be engraved on a metal plate and displayed on the wall at Pirate Plaza – inside the new football stadium at Proviso East, indicating your level of support.

    Here’s how it works:

    • Each sponsor will receive one brick from the old Proviso East football stadium and reserved seats at the dedication ceremony for the new Theresa L. Kelly Football Stadium, which will be held on Sunday, October 10th.
    • Choose your sponsorship level:
      • Pennant Sponsorship requires a minimum donation of $50.

    *Receive two reserved seats at the October 10th stadium dedication ceremony.

    • Bronze Sponsorship requires a minimum donation of $150.

    *Receive three reserved seats at the October 10th stadium dedication ceremony.

    • Silver Sponsorship requires a minimum donation of $300.

    *Receive four reserved seats at the October 10th stadium dedication ceremony.

    • Gold Sponsorship requires a minimum donation of $500.

    *Receive six reserved seats at the October 10th stadium dedication ceremony.

    • Diamond Sponsorship requires a minimum donation of $1,000

    *Receive ten reserved seats at the October 10th stadium dedication ceremony.

    • Head to our website at PTHS209.org/Buy-A-Brick to make your selection.
    • Create an account. Be sure to include email address and mailing address.
    • Enter your sponsorship level and the amount of your donation.
    • Enter your payment information.
